About This Part
S Gear-Q is a Hasbro disc for the Burst System's QuadDrive System, modelled jointly on Takara Tomy's Nexus DB disc and its S Gear evolution gear, giving it the outline of a shrunken Nexus with an S Gear attached. It debuted in western markets with the Destruction Belfyre B7 and Decay Perseus P7 dual pack. Its shape matches Hasbro's own Nexus-Q closely, but the reworked rim mimics the S Gear's profile instead, which drops compatibility with Takara Tomy's S Gear and D Gear evolution gears while adding roughly a third of a gram; that jagged rim also cuts its Life-After-Death and leaves it underweight next to other QD discs.
In Play
Despite a shape suggesting attack synergy, the community rates S Gear-Q as outclassed by a regular Nexus-Q fitted with an S Gear, and recommends it for collecting rather than competitive use given its light weight against other QD and QS discs.
- Debuted in western countries with the Destruction Belfyre B7 and Decay Perseus P7 Dual Pack.
- S Gear-Q is the first disc to render its abbreviation entirely in capital letters, an acronym of "S Gear".
