About This Part

Paradox is a Takara Tomy disc for the Burst System's Gatinko Layer System, built from a small plastic inner disc holding the layer-mounting prongs and a wide outer ring carrying metal edges and five plastic blades. It debuted in Japan on December 26th, 2019 with a Random Booster Vol. 18 release, later reaching western markets as Paradox-P with Hasbro's Pro Series starter Soul Balkesh Paradox-P Eternal Ten. Its gimmick lets the outer ring sit on the inner disc with its blades facing up or down; the downward mode scrapes often and runs light overall, while the upward mode, compatible only with the Naked base, suits it well and helps Life-After-Death-centred drivers such as Rise and Mobius equalize spin.

In Play

The community builds Paradox into equalizer combinations such as Naked Longinus, Spriggan, or Diabolos 2 paired with Xtend+, Bearing Sen, or Goku, useful against right-spinning opponents though light enough to be knocked out by Judgement or Zwei base combinations; outside the Naked base's upward mode it recommends Paradox for collecting only, given how light it runs in the current metagame.
