About This Part

Oval is a Takara Tomy disc for the Burst System, cut in an oval outline with "O" markings on its top face for easy identification. It debuted in Japan on August 8th, 2015 with the B-12 starter Deathscyther Oval Accel, later reaching western markets through Hasbro's single pack Doomscizor Oval Accel. The design was meant to add spin momentum by spreading weight to two opposite sides, but its underside runs mostly hollow, making it the second-lightest disc ever released after 12, and its shape hurts stability rather than helping it, causing combinations to wobble dangerously after being struck.

In Play

Even in niche hop-attacker builds paired with Quake, the community sees Oval as mainly a destabilization risk with no offsetting gain in attack, and recommends it only for collecting.

The Competitive View

Its oval, two-point weight distribution destabilizes the Beyblade on impact rather than helping it, and its extreme lightness gives no meaningful attack or stamina benefit, including in niche Hop Attacker builds using the Quake driver.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Useless for all Beyblade types; should never be considered in competitive play.

  • Weight: 18.2 grams
  • Debuted with B-12 Deathscyther Oval Accel
  • Lightest Forge Disc released, due to hollow underside construction
