About This Part

Infinity is a disc Takara Tomy released for the Dual Layer branch of the Burst System, debuting in Japan on September 17th, 2016 with the B-59 Zillion Zeus Infinity Weight starter and reaching the west through Hasbro's Zillion Zeutron Z2 Infinity Weight starter pack. Its round, thick, sharp-edged build is warped to recall a Mobius strip, pulling nearly all of its weight to the rim for a strong flywheel effect and stamina, much like Ring, while its round shape allows some life-after-death. That same rim-loaded weight, though, raises the odds of a burst, because the disc and tip hold their speed while the layer above them gives way first.

In Play

Infinity found its best use in tornado-staller builds such as Wyvern/Acid Anubis/Zillion Zeus Infinity Accel/Zephyr, letting a Beyblade out-spin a stationary opponent without touching it, but the arrival of SwitchStrike and God-era Core Discs such as 4 and 7 has left it fit only for a collection.

  • Released in Japan September 17th, 2016 with the B-59 Zillion Zeus Infinity Weight starter.
  • Brought west through Hasbro's Zillion Zeutron Z2 Infinity Weight starter pack.

The Competitive View

The high Outward Weight Distribution helps stamina builds outlast stationary opponents, as in Wyvron Infinity Accel/Zephyr Tornado Staller setups, but raises burst risk versus resilient attack layers, an effect amplified further on Infinity's heavier side in builds like Valtryek/Xcalius Infinity Xtreme/Accel/Zephyr.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Outclassed for stamina by Spread or Knuckle and for attack by Heavy/Gravity, which are more versatile; suitable for collection purposes only.
