About This Part
Giga-Q is a disc Hasbro built for the QuadDrive branch of the Burst line, debuting in western stores through the Cyclone Fury String Launcher Set. It mirrors the symmetrical, eight-sided shape and diameter of Takara Tomy's Giga but is thinner with a hollowed underside, leaving it roughly 8 grams lighter than its counterpart. That puts its weight near the Core Discs 0 and 00, though those discs can still add a Disc Frame for extra heft that Giga-Q cannot match.
In Play
The community sees little reason to run Giga-Q over the original Giga, since it keeps the same design at a lighter weight; it still gets some use in the WBO's Burst Limited format when heavier options like Tapered-Q or Hasbro's Wheel-SP are unavailable, but has no legal standing in the WBO's Burst Classic format.
