About This Part
D Gear-Q is a disc Hasbro built for the QuadDrive and QuadStrike branches of the Burst line, arriving in the west inside the Light Ignite Battle Set. It borrows its outline from Takara Tomy's Nexus disc fitted with the D Gear evolution gear, matching the shape of Hasbro's own Nexus-Q disc but with its rim reshaped to mimic the D Gear attachment. That reshaping breaks compatibility with Takara Tomy's D Gear and S Gear evolution gears while adding roughly a third of a gram, and despite its attack-styled profile it falls short of a plain Nexus-Q fitted with a D Gear.
In Play
Its light weight leaves it behind other QuadDrive and QuadStrike discs for serious play, so the community keeps it mainly as a collectible rather than a combat piece.
- Debuted in western countries with the Light Ignite Battle Set.
- D Gear-Q is the second disc to render its abbreviation in all capital letters, here standing for "D Gear".
