About This Part
7 is a Core Disc from Takara Tomy, shared across the Burst System, the God Layer System and the SwitchStrike System. It launched in Japan on July 1st, 2017 with the B-86 Starter, Legend Spriggan 7 Merge, then reached western stores through Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack, Legend Spryzen S3 7 Merge. Built like Gravity or Heavy but asymmetrical, it carries seven jutting sections shaped like the numeral, with two of them split into halves so the disc still balances despite looking uneven. Its unusually high outward mass gives it the strongest stamina of any Core Disc alongside real heft for both attack and defence, all without the severe burst vulnerability that heavier discs like 8 suffer, and a compatible Frame lets it flex into practically any combination.
In Play
Community rankings treat 7 as strictly a collector's piece in the Standard format once Superking-era discs such as Wheel and Over arrive, yet call it one of the four strongest Core Discs — alongside 0, 00 and 10 — in the WBO's Burst Limited Format, where it edges out the heavier 0 and 10 on stamina; it holds no legality in the Burst Classic Format at all.
- Released in Japan on July 1st, 2017 with the B-86 Starter, Legend Spriggan 7 Merge.
- Released in western markets with Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack, Legend Spryzen S3 7 Merge.
- A red-coloured 7 Disc was distributed in Japan through a Cho-Z Bey Get Campaign, redeemed with a campaign ticket after spending up to 2000円 on Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst products at participating stores.
The Competitive View
7 lacks the Outward Weight Distribution of discs like 8 or 4 so it has less stamina, but its weight and balanced shape make it hit harder in attack builds such as Spryzen S3 7Meteor Xtreme, and it bursts less easily than 8 or 4 while trading some stamina for burst resistance in stamina builds like Garudas G3 7Flow/Meteor Atomic.
Verdict as the draft gives it: A must-buy disc overall; its only real drawbacks are lower stamina and Outward Weight Distribution compared with rivals.
- Debuted B-86 Starter Spryzen S3 7 Merge, July 1, 2017 (also referenced in revisions as Legend Spriggan 7 Merge)
- Tied with disc "1" for heaviest Core Disc at time of writing (unconfirmed)
Works with
- Works well with Meteor for heavy attack builds and with Flow/Atomic in stamina builds.
Related parts named in the draft: 8, 4, 1, Meteor, Atomic.
