About This Part

6 is a Core Disc produced by Takara Tomy for the Burst System, also used in the God Layer System and SwitchStrike System. It debuted in Japan on March 18th, 2017 inside the B-73 Starter, God Valkyrie 6Vortex Reboot, then arrived in the west through Hasbro's Star Storm Battle Set. Like the other even-numbered Core Discs it is symmetrical and elliptical, with three loop-shaped protrusions on each face echoing the shape of Disc 7. That resemblance is only skin deep, though, since the loops are thin and four wide holes sit at the disc's centre, leaving 6 noticeably lighter than heavier siblings such as 2, 4, 5 and 7 despite still outweighing plain Discs like Heavy or Gravity.

In Play

Community assessment rates 6 as outclassed for tournament use once heavier Core Discs are available, since its weight distribution cannot match discs of similar shape but greater mass; it is generally kept for collecting rather than battling.

  • Released in Japan on March 18th, 2017 with the B-73 Starter, God Valkyrie 6Vortex Reboot.
  • Released in western markets with Hasbro's Star Storm Battle Set.

The Competitive View

Its overall shape resembles 7's, implying similar Attack-friendly weight distribution, but thin protrusions and large center holes make it noticeably lighter than 7 and other heavier discs. It remains heavier than base discs like Heavy and Gravity, but discs such as 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8 outclass it with better weight distribution.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Outclassed for competitive use overall; recommended for collection purposes only.
