About This Part
4 is a Core Disc made by Takara Tomy for the Burst System, also used within the God Layer System and SwitchStrike System. It reached Japanese shelves on March 18th, 2017 inside the B-75 Blaze Ragnaruk 4Cross Flugel Booster, then crossed to western stores through Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack carrying Tempest Wyvron W3 4Glaive Atomic. The disc is a symmetrical, elliptical piece with a numeral "4" moulded into one protrusion and a Roman numeral "IV" into its mirror, both extending unusually far outward to push mass toward the rim. That outward mass gives 4 strong stamina potential and, because the disc runs heavier than ordinary Discs like Heavy or Gravity, solid resistance to being knocked from the stadium; pairing it with a Frame such as Cross or Glaive adds a life-after-death bounce as well.
In Play
Community opinion treats 4 as a mainstay across stamina, defence and attack builds, prized for combining real weight with the added durability a compatible Frame provides; its stamina trails only Disc 7 among Core Discs.
- Released in Japan on March 18th, 2017 with the B-75 Booster, Blaze Ragnaruk 4Cross Flugel.
- Released in western markets through Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack, Tempest Wyvron W3 4Glaive Atomic.
The Competitive View
Its extended protrusions give high Outward Weight Distribution and stamina potential; its extra weight over base Disks (Heavy, Gravity) boosts Knock-Out resistance, and pairing with Cross or Glaive Frames adds Life-After-Death. Compared to 8 (more stamina), 4 offers comparable stamina with better Burst resistance thanks to its lighter weight and lower OWD.
Verdict as the draft gives it: A must-have Disk, central to Stamina and Defense combinations, especially with Cross/Glaive Frames.
- Debut: B-75 Booster Blaze Ragnaruk 4Cross Flugel, March 18, 2017
- Symmetrical, elliptical shape; two protrusions per side, one shaped like "4" and one like the Roman numeral "IV"
- Heavier than base Disks like Heavy and Gravity
