About This Part

Valkyrie 1, usually shortened to Valkyrie, is a Takara Tomy DB Core showing an armoured face with a stylized V, matching the look of earlier parts in the Valkyrie line and standing in for the valkyries of Norse myth. It was the first of two Valkyrie DB Cores and debuted in Japan on July 17th, 2021 with the B-187 Starter Savior Valkyrie Shot-7, carrying an above-average level of burst resistance. A built-in spring makes the piece rebound when struck, which can extend an attack build's reach but more often pushes a combination toward bursting, so the effect suits defence and stamina setups better, where the rebound adds to defence instead.

In Play

The community still values it for its stamina and defensive rebound, though the later Dragon DB Core outclassed it with a more compressed spring that shortens the rebound while keeping the same defensive benefit; Valkyrie 1 is rated a welcome addition rather than a must-have for the WBO's Burst format, and it has no legality in GT, Limited or Classic.
