About This Part
Belial 2, generally just called Belial, is the second right-spin DB Core in the line from Takara Tomy, shown here in side profile. Its standout feature is the "Overdrive System": at speed, centrifugal force snaps a tab into the left groove that locks the Disc in place and stops it from shedding its final click and bursting. Two distinct molds exist — the launch version, and a reworked mold introduced with a later booster and folded into Starter Set reprints from April 2022 on, which adds a firmer lock plus a new "BU Lock" groove that grips the raised tabs on the Xanthus and Moon discs for a snugger fit.
In Play
The community favours the reworked mold for its stronger lock and added BU Lock grip, and rates Belial 2 a must-have for the Burst format whenever burst resistance is the priority, noting it carries more stamina than the comparably resistant Kerbeus. It is barred from the GT, Limited, and Classic formats.
- Debuted in Japan on October 2nd, 2021 with the B-191 Overdrive Special Starter Set.
- A reworked mold with a firmer lock and the added BU Lock groove arrived with the B-197 Divine Belial Nexus Adventure-3 booster, and was folded into Starter Set reprints from April 2022 onward.
- The Oha Suta Ver. was handed out only as a prize at the two-day "Oha Suta Cup" tournament in Tokyo on July 30th and 31st, 2022, capped at 210 entrants each day, going to those who beat Xiphoid Xcalibur Xanthus Sword'-1.
