About This Part
Zest belongs to Takara Tomy's lineup as a dual-spin Balance Type BU Blade under the Burst System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series, and also a Dynamite Battle Layer System tag, launched in Japan on August 6th, 2022, through the B-201 Zest Achilles Customize Set. Moving its Zest Sword attachment between positions shifts it across three setups: Speed Mode with no attachment at all for a thin, light build; Attack Mode, where the Sword's silver segments align with the Blade's own for bigger striking surfaces; and Defense Mode, where the Sword instead covers the gaps for a rounder outline, continuing an idea seen earlier in the Union Base and the Infinite Ring. It is the first Layer in the Achilles line built for dual-spin, flipping between right- and left-spin the way the Spriggan line does, which combined with its three Sword setups and the usual Low/High Mode swap gives it twelve possible configurations.
In Play
Despite all those configurations, Zest stays too thin and light to stand out anywhere: its attack trails options like Guilty, its spin-equalizing ability lags Astral and World, its same-spin stamina falls short of Blades such as Wind, and its slim build leaves it a poor fit for Defense combinations; the community rates it outclassed across the board, so it is not recommended for the WBO's Burst format and is not legal in Burst GT, Burst Limited or Burst Classic.
- Debuted in Japan with the B-201 Zest Achilles Customize Set on August 6th, 2022.
