About This Part

Takara Tomy built Gatling as a right-spin Attack Type BU Blade for the Burst System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series, sharing a Dynamite Battle Layer System tag too, debuting in Japan on June 25th, 2022, inside the B-199 Booster named Gatling Dragon Karma Charge Metal'-10. Round in outline with two moving blades in the tradition of Imperial and Tempest before it, it fits any right-spin or dual-spin DB Core and can shift on impact between a closed "Slashing Hit Mode", where its dragon jaws stay shut for a circular profile, and an open "Consecutive Hit Mode", where the jaws part and the movable blades retract inward for an elliptical shape.

In Play

The round profile actually works against its Attack Type label in right-spin attack matchups, leaving Gatling a narrow niche in Stamina combinations against opposite-spin opponents; the community considers it well behind other Blades even there, so it is not recommended for the WBO's Burst format and is not legal in Burst GT, Burst Limited or Burst Classic.

  • Debuted in Japan with the B-199 Booster, Gatling Dragon Karma Charge Metal'-10, on June 25th, 2022.
