About This Part

Takara Tomy produced Burst as a dual-spin Balance Type BU Blade under the Burst System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series, with a Dynamite Battle Layer System tag alongside them, first appearing in Japan on November 12th, 2022, inside the B-205 Burst Ultimate VS Set. It carries two small blades and two larger ones as the successor to the Astral Blade, keeping a similar outline but scaled up and fitted with a Burst Lock, plus metal and rubber worked into its blades; like Astral, flipping the piece switches its spin direction. Where Astral put its rubber on the small blades, Burst moves it onto the two large blades and adds metal there too, giving harder impacts than Astral's split arrangement.

In Play

It offers decent stamina against both same-spin and opposite-spin opponents plus a modest attack presence, making it a reasonable all-rounder Stamina choice in 3-on-3 or 5G decks; competitive players call it a welcome but non-essential piece for the WBO's Burst format, and it is not legal in Burst GT, Burst Limited or Burst Classic. Its attack still trails behind options like Guilty, and its spin-equalizing ability lags behind Astral and World.
