About This Part
Takara Tomy released this left-spin Defense Type Blade for the Dynamite Battle Layer System, debuting in Japan on June 26th, 2021 through the B-186 Random Booster Vol. 26. It follows the shape-shifting trick of earlier Bahamut-line Layers before it: as a combination sheds clicks on its way toward Bursting, two protrusions push outward, turning its elliptical outline rounder, though the community finds this rounder shape too hard to use consistently in a real match. Despite carrying a Defense classification, it sees more play in Stamina builds, generally trailing Vanish in Same-Spin Stamina while holding up moderately well against Opposite-Spin rivals, and performs best on wide Opposite-Spin Stamina Drivers such as Drift.
In Play
The community considers Roar outclassed by Vanish in both Defense and Stamina roles and does not recommend Takara Tomy's Roar for the WBO's Burst format; it is also not legal in the WBO's Burst GT, Limited, or Classic formats.
