About This Part

Zwei is a left-spin Attack Base Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's Gatinko Layer System, debuting in Japan on June 22nd, 2019 as Zwei Longinus Drake Spiral' Metsu. Hasbro localized it west inside a Pro Series Starter Pack as Zwei Lúinor Blitz-P Xtend+ Metsu, keeping the same shape but softer plastic. It has four blades, two small and two larger ones carrying the metal dragon heads familiar from the Longinus layer line, and their steep downward slope makes for a heavy part that hits hard on contact.

In Play

Alongside Judgement, Zwei is one of the few genuinely strong Left-Spin Attack options and helped break the dominance Left-Spin Stamina combinations once held after its release. It lacks Judgement's burst-stopping gimmick but also does not wear down with use, and it performs best paired with rubber Attack-type drivers rather than plastic ones such as Spiral', which its weight works against. Even so, Gatinko Layer System parts as a whole are considered too light for the current Standard metagame, and Zwei is not legal in either the WBO's Burst Limited or Burst Classic formats, leaving it a strong pick for collectors rather than current tournament play.
