About This Part
Union is a right-spin Balance Base Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's Gatinko Layer System, debuting in Japan on September 21st, 2019 packaged with Union Achilles Convert Xtend+ Retsu. Hasbro localized it for western Pro Series shelves as Union Achilles Convert-P Xtend+ Retsu. Its two large, sloped blades form the main contact points and give it strong knockout and burst-attack potential, an effect boosted by a pair of removable Union Sword attachments. Fitting the swords creates a heavier, longer-bladed Power Mode, while pulling them off produces a lighter, faster Speed Mode meant to pair with Attack-type drivers such as Xtreme'.
In Play
Competitive use leans on switching modes to fit the matchup: Power Mode adds mass and reach for knockouts, while Speed Mode trims weight so the part can keep pace alongside rubber Attack tips.
- Debuted in Japan on September 21st, 2019 as Union Achilles Convert Xtend+ Retsu.
- Released in western countries by Hasbro as Union Achilles Convert-P Xtend+ Retsu.
- A Holy Sword colourway was a CoroCoro magazine exclusive, and a translucent yellow colourway was sold only through the wbba. Store.
