About This Part
This Sword is a right-spin Attack Base Hasbro built for the Burst System's HyperSphere System, unrelated to the differently-sourced Pro Series part that also carries the Sword name. It debuted in western markets in the HyperSphere Starter Pack alongside Sword Valtryek V5 Blitz Power-H, and went on to headline several battle sets, a premium boxed release and a three-bey evolution pack.
In Play
- Released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System's HyperSphere System.
- Debuted in western countries in the HyperSphere Starter Pack Sword Valtryek V5 Blitz Power-H.
- Hasbro's Pro Series renaming of Slash also carries the name Sword, making it a separate part that happens to share the same localized title as this HyperSphere Base.
The Competitive View
Its shape and surface area create Assault-level aggressive movement, but a rough perimeter, low metal-to-floor friction, and wide diameter make banking hard to hold and give poor stamina despite the metal build; the side protrusions never reach the opponent at Burst-system height and instead scrape the stadium floor, killing life-after-death, while its above-average height further hurts attack potential.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Rated for collection purposes only due to poor control, poor stamina, a severe scrape risk, and a height ill-suited for attack combinations.
- Eight-pointed metal star tip
- Two sword-shaped side protrusions
- Taller than most performance tips
Related parts named in the draft: Iron, Assault, Jaggy, Sieg Xcalibur.
