Description

Two outward-swinging wings, driven by centrifugal force, define this Attack-type top's build. It is meant to lead in both attack and defence but tends to slow rather than score.

Parts in detail

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Wing Attack Ring 6.1 g Right Spin Only A ring with spring-mounted wings that unfurl from centripetal force on launch, a genuinely fragile design since the thin mounting points often snap off. Indirect hits fold the wings inward rather than landing solidly, and its small size hides its contact points on wide disks, yet the wings' grinding action makes it an unexpectedly strong Right-Spin zombie/spin-stealing ring on Wide Survivor or Wide Defense.
Weight Disk Balance 14.1 g A light disk with an unremarkable mass distribution and large points that create some recoil against low hits; comprehensively outclassed by later weight disks.
Blade Base Semi-Flat Base 7.2 g A 4 Layer System base with a Right Spin Gear built in; light, stable, and a genuinely good stamina part on its own, most famously paired with Ten Balance in what the source calls 'Semi-Flat Base Stamina' combinations.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

The community regards it as a comparatively weak blade despite its intended dual role.

Community testing, Aug. 26, 2011 — summarised

The competitive view

Wing Attacker consists of the Wing Attack Ring, the Wide weight disk and the Semi-Flat blade base. The Hasbro mold variant fills in a gap in the wings to reduce breakage. Wing Attacker's retracting-wing gimmick leaves its gaps open to being hit once the wings extend, knocking the beyblade off balance and letting an opponent score a sleep-out or stadium-out, and the ring's severe breakage and coil problems are reported to compound the issue.
