Description
Takara put this top on shelves in July 1999 as the very first Beyblade product sold, known among fans as Ultimate Dragoon. Tyson Granger carries it briefly in the anime and more prominently in the manga as his first top, spinning right on a Cross Dragon attack ring, a Wide weight disk and a Flat blade base. It later gives way to Dragoon Grip Attacker as his signature build.

Parts in detail
The first release of the franchise's 'Bakuten' reboot era. Hasbro added 'Ultimate' to the names of the rest of the original 'First 3' releases but dropped it here, which the source calls baffling.
| Slot | Part | Weight | Spin | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attack Ring | Cross Dragon | 2.7 g | Right Spin Only | A small ring with flat-faced contact points that generate meaningful recoil without offering useful attack contact. Its size still protrudes slightly past Wide Survivor, making it too recoil-heavy for survival or spin-stealing use. |
| Weight Disk | Wide | 12.7 g | A light disk with average width and a more centrally focused mass than its own successors, making it heavier than Eight Wide despite the name. Its shape still causes recoil despite the light weight, and Ten Balance offers a better all-around spread. | |
| Blade Base | Flat Base | 6.5 g | Right Spin Only | Right-spin only, with its spin gear built in. Its extremely low profile helps it get underneath opponents, but it can't take a Heavy Metal Core and has limited recoil control. |
Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

Community testing, Sep. 03, 2009 — summarised
The competitive view
The very first plastic-generation release's Cross Dragon attack ring is judged largely outclassed for direct attack but usable in a weight-disk-attack setup since its shape leaves the disk exposed. Two manufacturing molds are described, with the newer, thicker one found on later-named siblings holding up much better against breakage. Whether only one of the three related releases uses the newer mold is disputed; ownership reports indicate all three actually carry it.
