Description

Known in Japan as Rock Escolpio T125JB, Takara Tomy sold this Defense Type top as a Booster before Hasbro reissued it as a Starter Pack in 2010. Its build pairs a Scorpio Face Bolt and Energy Ring with the Rock Fusion Wheel, a Tornado 125 Spin Track and a Jog Ball tip; several recoloured siblings followed, including Poison Scorpio M145Q, Counter Escolpio 145D, Killer Escolpio 100D and Burn Escolpio 100RF.

The competitive view

Rock Escolpio T125JB (BB-65) is a Metal Fight Beyblade later renamed Rock Scorpio by Hasbro, which also dropped 'Escolpio' from the Face art; the article covers its three known Metal Wheel mold variants and rates most of its parts as outclassed.

Escolpio's small shape increases Metal Wheel contact for more Smash Attack and Destabilize potential; the 6-Cylinder Rock mold reduces recoil versus the 0/3-Cylinder molds and adds Stamina from the extra cylinder weight, and is usable in the Attack combo MF Rock(6 Cylinder) Leone CH120RF; T125 performs similarly to D125 and is generally overshadowed by CH120, though usable in MF Gravity Perseus T125R2F (Counter Mode) or as a Stamina fallback in Basalt Kerbecs T125WD; JB is noted for exactly one use, a left-spin Destabilizer combo with L Drago 100JB.

Verdict as the draft gives it: The article concludes Rock Escolpio is made up of generally outclassed parts and recommends it for collectors only.

  • Escolpio Clear Wheel: 2.3 grams, clear brown with two 'stinger' protrusions
  • Rock Metal Wheel has three molds: 0 Cylinders (31.4 g, TAKARA-TOMY only), 3 Cylinders (32.6 g), 6 Cylinders (32.7 g, the best of the three for Stamina, Attack, and Defense)
  • Tornado 125 (T125) Track: 1.7 grams
  • Jog Ball (JB) Bottom: 0.7 grams, small spikes on its surface
  • Other versions: Rock Scorpio T125JB (Beyblade Metal Fusion/Hasbro), Poison Scorpio M145Q (Burning Firestrike 2-Pack, solid grey Clear Wheel), Counter Escolpio 145D (Beyblade Deck Attack And Defence Set, transparent black Clear Wheel), Killer Escolpio 100D (Random Booster Vol. 6), Burn Escolpio 100RF (Random Booster Vol. 6)
