Metal System

Takara Tomy never gave a formal label to the parts system that opened the Metal Fight Beyblade toyline in 2009, so fans filled the gap themselves. The World Beyblade Organization settled on 'Metal System' in English, western fans coined 'Pre-Hybrid Wheel System', and Japanese sources have used 'Horoscope Series', 'Metal Series' and, retroactively, 'initial series'. Every Beyblade built on it shares four parts — Face, Wheel, Track and Bottom — with the Wheel serving as the main contact point and the Track and Bottom setting height and grip. Hasbro never released parts from this system directly but based its Legend Beyblades toyline on it.
