Introduced with the Hard Metal System, this piece replaces the purely cosmetic Bit-Chip from the plastic generation by physically locking a top's stack together, doubling as the anchor point the Dual Shooter grips during launch. Takara Tomy cut three distinct molds across HMS's run: a looser first version that lowers stability and spin speed but suits wobble-based setups, a tighter and more common second version, and a rare third version, limited to four tops, that fits snugly enough to be the tournament standard. A special punched variant let Bloody Devil MS and Shining God MS mount a Weight Disk underneath their Rubber Core, and Round Shell MS shipped with a unique Running Protector for its rolling gimmick.
