Biography
Ian Papov — Ivan Pakhov in Japan — is the smallest Demolition Boy and the team's mouthpiece, cold in much the way Kai is and usually somewhere near Tala without the two of them saying much. His serpent Wyborg, a gift from Boris, burrows under the dish and strikes from below, and he blades defensively with it. He is the first Abbey blader Tyson meets in Moscow, in a street match that is really Biovolt's opening probe of Dragoon; he beats weaker opponents like Steve and throws his matches with Max and Tyson deliberately, to serve the team's plan. Left out of the final line-up, he is the only Demolition Boy not to blade for the title, and he drops out of the story when the team reforms, reportedly losing his place to Kai and going home to Russia — though the Japanese ending brings him back.
Appearance and personality
What They Look Like, and How They Behave
The shortest of the Blitzkrieg Boys, with a long nose and goggles wider than his face.
Cool and cold, much as Kai is. In the first season he is usually somewhere near Tala, though the two barely speak.

Beyblade (2001)
Demolition Boys
Ian first blocks the Bladebreakers alongside Tala at the gates of Balkov Abbey, then picks a street fight with Tyson purely to buy Biovolt time — a battle he throws once it's served its purpose. In the World Championships proper he brushes past Steven without much effort, then tags along when the Demolition Boys go after Kai and helps tear Black Dranzer apart once it's handed back. His last real job is losing on purpose: in the ambush on the Bladebreakers' bus he goes down deliberately to Max, clearing the way for Bryan and Spencer to strip Draciel from him. Left off the final roster, Ian never blades for the title at all.
