Biography

Hyuga Hizashi is Hikaru's reckless, attack-driven younger brother and co-protagonist of Beyblade Burst Surge. Lazy and hasty outside the ring but fiercely competitive within it, he charges headfirst into battles with little strategy, forming Super Hyperion Xceed 1A after watching Valt Aoi's exhibition match. After Lain Valhalla destroys his Bey, he evolves it into Hyperion Flamebringer, and returns in QuadStrike piloting the Quad Beyblade Stellar Hyperion, still driven by his declared goal to 'start a revolution' against Beyblade's legends.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Short in stature, he keeps his crimson hair spiked up with a small bang falling at each temple, and shares his brother's orange half-sun tattoo, though his sits on the left cheek rather than the right. Fair skin and red eyes complete the face. He layers a black sweatshirt printed with an orange sun over a crimson-red hoodie lined in yellow, worn with orange pockets and a matching sun on the back, a white belt with a grey buckle, dark-blue shorts striped in white, deep-red compression pants, white sneakers trimmed in orange, and a single fingerless glove in teal with a green cuff on his left hand. When he resonates with his Beyblade, his hair briefly flares up as if lit with red fire.

Unlike his more measured older brother, he is hasty and reckless, charging straight into a battle with no real plan and just wanting it over as fast as possible. Laziness is just as much a part of him — mornings are a struggle, and Hikaru often ends up hauling him out of bed and carrying him around while he's still half asleep.

Briefing

What to know

  • Younger of the Hizashi brothers, formed his Lightning Bey Super Hyperion after watching Valt Aoi, Rantaro Kiyama, and Silas Karlisle's exhibition battle.
  • Loses Super Hyperion when Lain Valhalla destroys it, later evolving it into Hyperion Flamebringer Cho Xceed'+X.
  • Wiki credits him with more recorded battles than any other Beyblade character, largely from repeated joke matches against his own brother (445 times) and against Rantaro/Silas (333 times).
  • Considers Dante Koryu a close rival due to their similar ages, frequently ignoring Hikaru to battle Dante directly.
  • Beats every other Burst protagonist at least once across the series, including a battle-royale win over Valt Aoi and Aiger Akabane at the Legend Festival.
  • Returns in QuadStrike as a participant in Wakiya Murasaki's Battle Camp and the Lodestar Battle Tournament.
  • Has flare, per the anime's Episode 30, 'Explosive Battle.'

Claims We Could Not Check

  • Wiki credits him with the most battles of any Beyblade character, mostly from joke rematches against his brother and the Kiyama/Silas trio.
  • First Burst character with prominent visible tooth lines in his design.
  • Third Beyblade protagonist to wear shorts, after Tyson Granger and Aiger Akabane.
  • Hyperion is named after the mythological father of Helios, mirroring the brothers' relationship.
  • Along with Hikaru, one of only two Burst protagonists to not appear in the anime season immediately following their own.
