Biography

Dante Koryu, Drum Koryu in Japan, is the hero of Beyblade Burst Rise. Once a BC Sol trainee under Valt Aoi, he moves to Japan and joins his uncle's team, the Victories, piloting a dragon-themed Bey he designed himself. After Arthur Peregrine destroys his original Ace/Glyph/Rock Dragon, he rebuilds it as Command Dragon and later fuses it with a base borrowed from Delta Zakuro into Master Dragon. He carries the same drive into Surge with Triumph Dragon and QuadStrike with Gambit Dragon, chasing rivals like Gwyn Reynolds while mastering Hyper-Flux and eventually a unique Rainbow-Flux.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

An average-height boy with green eyes, he keeps his blond hair cropped short, with a blue, horn-shaped streak above each temple and short bronze eyebrows, plus red-and-yellow markings under both eyes. In his first season he wears a white collared shirt and red tie, a red fingerless glove on one hand, teal baggy trousers held by pale-blue suspenders, white dress shoes, and a blue jacket striped in lime with yellow trim and a red "D" on the left flap. Later his shirt turns yellow, the jacket trim turns white with a dark-blue stripe, the flaps carry a doubled "D" and a red Beyblade emblem, and his trousers gain a vertical white stripe, while the white shoes and red glove stay the same. When he syncs with his Bey, the blue streaks in his hair flare into blue flame.

Upbeat, passionate and easy-going, he throws himself into blading with real earnestness — watching Sword Valtryek defeat him in a blaze of gold left him thrilled rather than discouraged, and pushed him to build his own Gamma Bey. He's also endearingly scatterbrained, prone to blurting out his own tactics, wandering into traps without watching where he's going, and even forfeiting a match without noticing he'd already won it. Nerves or excitement tend to twist his face into looks meant to intimidate, and a win can tip him briefly into overconfidence. Underneath the clumsiness he's stubbornly determined, willing to keep facing the same rival until he finally takes them down, and like several of his fellow bladers he's formed enough of a bond with his Bey to talk to it directly.
