Biography

Aiger Akabane is the hot-headed protagonist of Beyblade Burst Turbo who builds his own Beyblade, Z Achilles, after witnessing Valt Aoi's power, then travels to challenge and eventually defeat him for the World Champion title. Along the way his obsessive drive to protect Achilles from the villain Phi corrupts his bond with his Bey, turning him ruthless until Achilles' destruction snaps him back to his old self. He returns in Rise, Surge, and QuadStrike as a title-holder and top competitor, upgrading through Union, Infinite, and Zeal Achilles while mentoring and rivaling a new generation of bladers.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Aiger resembles Valt but with lighter skin, turquoise eyes and maroon hair and eyebrows, plus a red letter A tattooed on his cheek and bandage strips across his face. In Turbo he wears a white shirt, black shorts with blue-buckled suspenders and a burgundy Letterman's jacket over burgundy boots, later adding a dark blue hand brace. By Rise, grown taller, he switches to an orange-yellow shirt, a longer red jacket, patched blue jeans and red boots, his brace now celestial blue. In Surge and QuadStrike, taller still, he returns to a burgundy jacket close to his original, kept with the same jeans, brace and boots. Resonating with his Bey turns his hair crimson and frees it from its restraining band.

A fierce dislike of losing drives Aiger, and his early defeat to Valt Aoi leaves him furious rather than reflective. Like Valt, though, he pairs instinct with real strategy, and boasts of his record and a self-declared 'invincibility' that isn't always earned. Raised on a farm, he keeps a deep fondness for animals, sleeping in Beigoma Academy's petting zoo rather than its dormitories. Corruption from Phi's dark power later hardens him into someone ruthless and stubborn, deaf to advice and quick to treat any loss as a personal insult. Once that influence breaks, he settles into a calmer, more open temperament, and matures further in the time that follows.
