About This Part
Pegasis debuted in Japan as a Takara Tomy Wheel for the Metal System with the BB-01 Starter Pegasis 105F on August 9, 2008. Three wing-like sections make up its shape, each with a flat front joining the protrusions and curving upward into a wing tipped with two pointed ridges, plus hoof-like details worked into the mold. Takara Tomy reworked the wing shape before the Metal Fight Beyblade line's launch; fans at the time guessed it was to fix breakage risk on the exposed wings, though a 2024 exhibit at Beyblade Park credited the change to improving Attack performance instead.
In Play
Pegasis stands as one of the strongest Smash Attack Wheels the Metal System produced, though the community only caught on to its potential well after the line ended, when MF Pegasis 145RF became popular for beating top-tier Wide Ball Defense builds, since pairing a Metal Face and RF cut its recoil enough for its Smash Attack to knock out Stamina types with ease. It later fell out of favour once rubber Performance Tips like Rubber Spike gave Defense builds a grip Pegasis couldn't overcome, and heavier 4D and Synchrome System parts arrived; the community treats it as a collection piece in Standard play but a must-have Attack part under the WBO's Limited Format, where the parts that outclass it are restricted.
- Debuted in Japan with the BB-01 Starter Pegasis 105F on August 9, 2008.
- Takara Tomy revised the wing mold before the Metal Fight Beyblade line's launch.
