About This Part

Dragoon, sometimes spelled Dragooon, is the only Warrior Wheel that spins left, a trait it can only use when placed on top in a Synchrome pairing. Three dragon heads make up its design: two wrap around the sides at the same height, while a third sits flat on top, its lower jaw and teeth forming an upward slope, and a pair of webbed wings and claws frame the central hole. It weighs 30.90 grams, measures 47.30 mm across and stands between 3.1 and 6.34 mm tall, and reached Japan on July 21, 2012 inside the BBG-16 Starter Dark Knight Dragooon LW160BSF, with a western release as the SS-16 Starter Pack Ronin Dragoon LW160BSF.

In Play

Dragoon is regarded as a top-tier Synchrome piece across Attack, Balance, Defense and Stamina builds; its protrusions are smaller than rival Attack wheels so it isn't the hardest hitter, but its left-spin sidesteps the "Zero-G Attack" tactic that tries to tilt the stadium against right-spin tops. Its weight makes it a strong choice as the lower wheel against recoil in Defense builds, and the same left-spin can be turned toward spin absorption in Zombie Stamina setups. Two production molds exist with a roughly 1-gram weight gap between them, but the difference has little bearing on how either performs.
