About This Part

Rubber Weight Core does double duty as both Weight Disk and Running Core: a weighted cylinder wrapped in rubber, ending in a semi-flat plastic tip, and the only such rubber piece meant to make direct contact with an opponent, which leaves it with no real substitute. It first appeared with Round Shell MS, and the rubber's job is to cushion impacts, usually with a soft sound and little ground lost.

In Play

It struggles against the Upper Attack style that most Hard Metal System attackers favour, since it can't block those hits the way a freely spinning Customize Weight Disk does, and its plastic tip's low floor friction helps survival but leaves it easy to knock around. Its rim is also angled to force an opponent's Beyblade down into the floor for a Force Smash effect, and it only performs well when spinning the same direction as its opponent; against an opposite spin it defends and outspins poorly. A same-direction Force Smash build paired with Metal Ape has a strong record against Wolborg MS's Bearing Core, though pure Defense builds are usually better served by Jiraiya MS's Bearing Core 2.
