About This Part
Polish Defense, marked PD, is a Performance Tip Takara Tomy put out first in Japan on September 18, 2010, packaged with the BB-90 LED Sight. It ranks second only to Wide Defense in width among the Defense-named tips (D, SD, WD, W2D, EWD, PD), and it is moulded from polyoxymethylene rather than the plastic other tips use, cutting friction with the stadium floor. That wide, slick base lets it wobble longer and through a wider angle than plain Defense, though the extra scraping this eventually causes wears its stamina down late in a match. Despite the name, it carries no real knockout-resistant qualities of its own.
In Play
The community finds its best home in Stamina builds paired with mid-height tracks around 160-170, since sharper Defense-series tips such as D and Eternal Wide Defense beat it outright.
- First sold in Japan on September 18, 2010, with the BB-90 LED Sight.
- Never issued by Hasbro; it stayed a Takara Tomy release.
- It is the only Performance Tip moulded from polyoxymethylene instead of the usual plastic.
- Along with Around Sharp and Sharp Wide Defense, it is among the few Performance Tips Hasbro never carried.
The Competitive View
Best suited to 160-height stamina customizations (e.g. Duo Cancer/Cygnus/Hades on 160/LW160/SA165 tracks with PD) due to its low friction, but is outclassed by Wide Defense below 160 and by Defense-family tips above 160, and even at 160 falls short of Eternal Wide Defense.
Verdict as the draft gives it: A decent alternative at best, made more niche by only being available bundled with a rare, largely non-competitive accessory (the LED Sight).
- Made of polyoxymethylene, a lower-friction plastic than standard performance tips
- Only available color: pearl gray
- Released with the BB-90 LED Sight
- A wider version of the Defense Performance Tip

- Best paired with Duo-family Fusion Wheels (Cancer/Cygnus/Hades) on 160-height tracks.
Related parts named in the draft: Defense, Wide Defense, Eternal Wide Defense, Duo.
