About This Part
Mad is Takara Tomy's Light Wheel version of the Dark Fusion Wheel, sold under the Hybrid Wheel System and first released in Japan on March 28, 2009 with Random Booster Light Vol. 1. Its printed line calls it "a combination of spurs for defence and spikes for attack," but where Dark carries twelve spikes angled clockwise, Mad packs its twelve protrusions tightly together into a nearly round outline.
In Play
That rounder shape works against Mad on two fronts: the protrusions barely stick out far enough to deliver real Smash Attack, and the constantly broken perimeter, with weight spread across too wide an area, undercuts Stamina too; built from plastic rather than metal, it is also prone to breaking in use, leaving the community to recommend it for collecting only.
- Debuted in Japan on March 28, 2009 with Random Booster Light Vol. 1.
- Dark's mold was originally meant to pass over to Mad without change, but designers scaled it back once they judged it too powerful.
