About This Part
Takara Tomy launched Lightning as a Hybrid Wheel System Fusion Wheel in Japan on July 18, 2009 with the BB-43 Starter Lightning L-Drago 100HF, and it reached western markets inside the Super Vortex Battle Set. Rotating the L-Drago I Energy Ring 180 degrees swaps it between two forms: Upper Mode, which exposes three broad slopes for heavy Smash Attack, and Rapid-Hit Mode, which trades those slopes for a ring of small ridged blades suited to quick repeated hits.
In Play
Upper Mode is generally seen as the stronger of Lightning's two configurations, delivering the more forceful Smash Attack of the pair.
- Released in Japan on July 18, 2009 with the BB-43 Starter Lightning L-Drago 100HF.
- Released in western countries with the Super Vortex Battle Set.
