About This Part

Circle Survivor is a Right Engine Gear built around a detachable, bowl-shaped plastic Customize Engine Weight rather than the metal CEW most Engine Gears use, with a tip shaped like the D-series Bottoms from Metal Fight Beyblade. That bowl spins freely and covers nearly the whole Blade Base, and combined with the Engine Gear line's unusually tall height, it gives a Beyblade an effective Defense-and-Survival hybrid. It debuted with the release of Wolborg 4, weighing 7 grams on its own and 12 grams with its CEW attached.

In Play

Because it sits taller than most opponents, incoming hits land on the free-spinning CEW instead of the core parts, absorbing Left-spin attacks the way a free-spinning Sub-AR would and charging the gear itself against Right-spin attacks; that neutralizes short Attack types and Upper Attack alike, and the CEW's Life After Death capability lets it consistently outlast many competitive Zombie-type customizations. Its one weakness is that, spinning only Right, it stays vulnerable to Right-spin Survival customs, though most Survival builds, Zombie or otherwise, spin Left, which limits how often that matters. A common Circle Survivor build pairs the Roller Defense Ring, Ten Heavy Weight Disk, a Right EG (Circle Defense) Spin Gear and Rock Bison's Normal Base with a compact Attack Ring and Weight Disk to maximize contact with the free-spinning CEW.

Collector's Note

A large, semi-free-spinning bowl (mounted to the EG shaft) that shields the base of the Beyblade — described as one of the defining defensive parts of the plastics era. Because it's the main contact point but isn't rigidly tied to the blade's weight, it forms an unusually effective protective barrier; the rest of the Beyblade can keep spinning after the bowl itself topples (an odd 'life after death'), and it can occasionally also keep a near-dead blade upright at very low RPM. Its tip is a sharper-than-usual Change shape (sharper even than Customize Metal Change Base) that wears quickly, becoming more aggressive but easier to knock out as wear brings it closer to the stadium edge. The free-spinning bowl blunts low hits (especially right-spin Upper Attack), resists spin-stealing, absorbs Smash Attacks, and often physically traps less-stable opponents underneath it; its rim can also be force-smashed, letting some Weight Based Defense/Force Smash combos outlast its LAD and win by outspin. Its chief weakness is combos that avoid the bowl and hit other parts directly, creating odd bad matchups against tall combos like Flying Defense (Hasbro). More stable Zombie and Defensive Zombie builds can outspin it despite its strength against less stable opponents. It anchors the entire Circle Survivor Defense archetype, historically strong enough to have pushed Traditional Upper Attack out of the meta before Storm Grip Base tip inversion was legalized as a counter; it's also the heaviest CEW part and part of some of the heaviest possible SG/BB/tip combos (with Right Engine Gear (Circle Defenser) and First Clutch Base (Zeus Version)), enabling Circle Survivor/Weight Based Defense hybrids. Collectors frame it as comparable in dominance to Metal Fight Beyblade's BD145. Used on Wolborg 4.
