About This Part
Leone I is an Energy Ring Takara Tomy released for the Hybrid Wheel System, debuting in Japan inside the BB-30 Starter Rock Leone 145WB on March 28, 2009, and reaching western shelves through the matching Starter Pack. Its round rim alternates six segments between a smooth, armoured pattern and a rougher, ridged one, finished with camouflage-style stickers. The rounded shape suited early Defense and Stamina builds, the role that first made the ring popular.
In Play
Heavier Fusion Wheels later made Leone I's raised profile a liability against lower, sleeker rings such as Cygnus and Gasher, but the community still runs it on low-Track Defense builds in the WBO's MFB Limited Format, where its smooth, hard-to-grip sides outperform even heavier rings like Aquario; it counts as a worthwhile pickup rather than an essential one.
- Debuted in Japan inside the BB-30 Starter Rock Leone 145WB on March 28, 2009.
- Reached western markets through the BB-30 Starter Pack Rock Leone 145WB.
- Reworked repeatedly through Random Booster releases as Clay, Mad, Wind, Heat and Dark Leone.
