About This Part
Destroyer, sold in Japan as Perseus, is a Takara Tomy dual-spin Energy Ring built to work with the Gravity Fusion Wheel through a mode-change gimmick: rotating the piece 180 degrees switches it between "Counter Mode" and "Defense Mode," changing which of Gravity's exposed sections the ring covers. The Defense variant carries three long, helmet-shaped protrusions alternating with three shorter stubs. It debuted in Japan on June 26, 2010 with the BB-80 Starter Gravity Perseus AD145WD, and reached western markets in May 2011 as the Gravity Destroyer AD145WD Starter Pack.
In Play
Community consensus rates the Defense variant as the most versatile of the three Destroyer releases, since switching modes shifts its performance between something close to the Stamina variant and something close to the Attack variant, making it central to Gravity's flexibility across a wide range of matchups.
