About This Part

Spike Dragon is a thick Magnacore System ring that debuted with Dragoon V2 in December 2001. It shows four dragon heads and crests raised slightly above its central ring, each one curving smoothly up from the body before ending in an abrupt, flat vertical face, an exaggerated take on the contact points of its predecessor, Eight Attacker. Four parallel grooves cut into each of those flat faces to focus impact force, giving the ring both its "Spike Attack" behaviour and its name.

In Play

Competitive players treat it as a hard-hitting left-spin ring capable of knocking an opponent out in a single exchange, making it one of the more usable one-hit-KO Attack Rings from the plastic generation, though its wide flat faces cause heavy recoil that the Spike Attack effect only partly offsets; in right spin its rounded contact points give it no real competitive use.

  • Released with Dragoon V2 in December 2001 as part of the Magnacore System, under both Takara Tomy and Hasbro.
