Description

The Kumade brothers and Nowaguma pilot this Defense Type top across the Beyblade: Metal Fusion and Beyblade: Metal Masters anime. Takara Tomy bundled it with the Extreme Beystadium in Japan on October 24, 2009, before Hasbro issued it as a Starter Pack in 2010. Its face bolt depicts an angry bear for Ursa Major, rendered in a stark scheme of orange bear against black.

The competitive view

Rock Orso D125B is a Metal Fight Beyblade Defense-type combo built around the six-pronged Rock metal wheel, originally bundled with the Extreme BeyStadium and later made more available through a Hasbro release; the Rock metal wheel has three distinct production molds with different cylinder counts and weights.

All three Rock wheel molds suffer recoil, but more cylinders reduce it; the 6-Cylinder mold has the best Stamina of the three (extra cylinder weight carries momentum around the wheel's outside) and is also rated best for Attack and Defense, cited in the combo MF Rock (6 Cylinder Mold) Leone CH120RF; D125's extending ring gives it a moderate Attack role at mid-range height versus the more versatile CH120, cited in MF Gravity Perseus D125R2F (Attack Version, Counter Mode); the Ball bottom's hemispherical shape maximizes stadium-floor contact and helps hold the centre of the stadium, useful for Defense as a fallback when WB is unavailable.

Verdict as the draft gives it: The whole combo is outclassed across the board -- Ball is beaten by CS, RSF, RDF, RB and RS -- leaving little reason to buy it beyond collecting.

  • Face Orso depicts the constellation Ursa Major/Minor
  • Clear Wheel Orso: 3.22 grams, translucent brown, five 'bear claw' shapes
  • Metal Wheel Rock: 3 molds -- 0 Cylinders (31.4g, Takara Tomy only), 3 Cylinders (32.6g, Takara Tomy and Hasbro), 6 Cylinders (32.7g, Takara Tomy and Hasbro); each cylinder a roughly 4mm-wide semi-circle on the underside
  • Track Defense 125 (D125): 1.7 grams
  • Bottom Ball (B): 0.6 grams
  • Other versions: Rock Orso ED145D (Beyblade Deck Entry Set, blue); Rock Orso D125B (Faceoff: Fighting Bear Fury, painted red); Hyper Orso SW145JB (Faceoff: Aqua Sword Strike, blue)
