In play and in the story
The Switch 145 Track can be reconfigured between sharp-pointed Attack mode and curved Defense mode by pulling its wings down after removing the tip, or with the wings removed entirely it functions as a plain 145 Track; the Jog Ball Tip behaves more like a Balance tip than a pure Defense one, gripping hard on impact but leaving the top vulnerable near the stadium edge, and is outclassed by MB and RB tips.
