    DranStrike arrives, and takes the quarter

    DranStrike is in 12.8% of top-three placements in the 90 days to 5 September 2026, against 2.0% in the 90 days before it — 219 placements where there were 38. No other blade moved half as far in either direction. Takara Tomy released it as BX-49 in Japan on 16 May 2026 and Hasbro followed as G2742 in June, so the rise tracks the blade reaching players rather than a change of mind about one already on shelves. It first appears in a reported result on 11 March 2026, two months before that Japanese release.

    WyvernHover gives up the most ground

    WyvernHover fell from 18.9% of placements to 13.4%, the largest drop of the quarter at 5.5 points. PhoenixWing gave up 3.5 and AeroPegasus 2.9 over the same two windows. None of the three has left the table: WyvernHover is still the seventh most-used blade of the window, on 230 placements.

    SharkScale is still the floor

    SharkScale appears in 62.2% of top-three placements, down 2.8 points from 65.0%. It has led every 90-day window since it was first reported on 18 January 2025, and nearly two placements in three still carry one. WizardRod is second on 58.7%.

    Free Ball passes Low Rush

    The two bits changed places. Free Ball rose from 31.2% of placements to 40.2% and Low Rush fell from 49.7% to 40.1%, a swing of about nineteen points between them. Hexa still leads both at 48.1%, though it is down 5.0 points itself.

    Ranked events read differently

    Filtering the same 90 days to the 257 ranked events changes who leads. WizardRod is in 68.1% of ranked top-three placements against SharkScale's 67.6% — four placements apart, so call it a tie. Across all 529 events SharkScale leads 62.2% to 58.7%, and across the 270 unranked events it leads 57.7% to 50.7%. Ranked and unranked events are close to evenly split in the reports, so this is about what players bring when the result counts, not about how many events of each kind there are.
