Beijing Glorious Animation, Future Planet and Takara Tomy co-produced this 52-episode animated take on Luo Guanzhong's classical novel, airing in China from August 2009 and reaching Japanese broadcast in April 2010. Though the show has no story connection to Beyblade, Takara Tomy timed a set of reworked RC Beyblade and Hard Metal System molds to its Chinese premiere, renaming stock tops after figures like Guan Yu, Lü Bu and Zhuge Liang. The lineup covers eight remote-controlled releases split across two radio channels plus eight Hard Metal System tops.
