Beywarriors: Shogun Steel

Hasbro designed this side line on its own, separate from Takara Tomy's mainline, pitching it as drawing on the spirits from the Beyblade: Shogun Steel cartoon while running on a figure-based battling gimmick rather than a plain spinning top. A February 7, 2013 press release timed to that year's American International Toy Fair introduced ripcord-launched figures offering five-piece customization and swappable spirit arms pulled from the show. An accompanying Octagon Showdown Set arena was pitched as letting figures spin, crash, and ricochet, its shape borrowed closely from the arena used in the Synchrom battle between Zyro Kurogane and Kira Hayama.
