Special move · Metal Saga

Grand Maelstrom

Sophie's opening special move in Beyblade: Metal Masters, used to spin up a giant whirlpool that engulfs the opponent. It is always deployed first, since the water it creates is what her follow-up move, Grand Victoire, later turns into the crushing tidal wave of their joint attack, Grand Deucalion.

What to know

  • Used by Sophie with Grand Cetus T125RS
  • First used against Gingka, Yu, and Masamune during the Festival of Warriors
  • Always used ahead of Grand Victoire to supply the water for Grand Deucalion

What we checked

What is on record here is thin, so we went looking elsewhere rather than padding this page. These are the collections we searched for Grand Maelstrom, and none of them had anything to add:

  • our toy database of every Beyblade and part
  • every episode of every series
  • the World Beyblade Organization's archived forums and Beywiki drafts
  • Takara Tomy's and beyblade.jp's own pages
  • Wikipedia in English and Japanese
  • beyblade.com
  • collectors' measurements of the parts
  • the tournament, testing, news and fake-check records already on this site
