Right-Spin

Clockwise rotation is the default spin orientation built into most tops, a pattern that took hold with the Metal Saga toyline and continued through Burst and X. Tops turning this way can bleed off an opponent's spin energy through absorption when they meet a top spinning the opposite way, since the two rotations cancel against each other on contact. In the X line, DranSword and similar tops mark their orientation with a clockwise arrow stamped on the Gear Chip.

What to know

  • Default rotation for most tops since the Metal Saga toyline
  • The Original Series allowed switching direction by swapping Spin Gears, though left-spin gears mostly shipped only with the Dragoon line
  • Some Gatinko Layer System pieces introduced in Beyblade Burst Rise only mate with parts sharing their spin direction
  • X-line tops mark their rotation with a clockwise arrow on the Gear Chip

Where it comes up

  • spin-direction matchups and part compatibility
