Launcher

Paired with a Ripcord or winder, this handheld device is what actually sends a Beyblade spinning into a stadium, and its design has shifted with every generation: geared shooters for the earliest tops, a flip-direction Dual Shooter once Hard Metal System parts arrived, then the string-pulled BeyLauncher for Metal Fight Beyblade and a sturdier Compact Launcher once Zero-G's heavier tops demanded it. Some variants pack extra tricks, from electronic Bit-Beast shooters with built-in mini-games to a Digital Power Launcher that doubles as an RPM counter and can fire in either spin direction.

What to know

  • Originally called a Shooter
  • Right and Left EZShooter variants exist for the two spin directions
  • Hard Metal System's Dual Shooter can flip spin direction just by flipping the winder
  • The BeyLauncher for Metal Fight Beyblade uses a string instead of a winder and auto-retracts it
  • The Digital Power Launcher runs on 2 AAA batteries and can measure launch RPM
  • The Zero-G Compact Launcher's gears tend to fail under the heavier Synchrom System

  • The Metal Fight Beyblade Light Launcher uses essentially the same mechanism as the decade-earlier EZShooter, a point critics have raised given the switch to all-metal Wheels
  • Measuring RPM with the Digital Power Launcher adds friction and so weakens the launch it is timing
