Zeo Abyss is Masamune Kadoya's childhood best friend from the Dungeon Gym in America who, believing Masamune abandoned him and their sick friend Toby, turns to Dr. Ziggurat's HD Academy for power. Enhanced by the Arrangement System and driven by resentment, he becomes a formidable Team Star Breaker blader with Flame Byxis, defeating Masamune in a brutal Big Bang Bladers match. After learning Toby was brainwashed into the puppet Faust, Zeo rebels against Ziggurat, reconciles with Masamune, and helps free Toby, reforming Team Dungeon with a new Beyblade, Spiral Fox, for Metal Fury.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Zeo is a tall, lightly muscled teenager with light skin, sky blue eyes and long spiky brown hair gathered into a short ponytail with beige highlights. During Metal Masters he wears an unzipped black suit fitted with metal padding at the wrists, knees, shoulders and outer thighs, along with a purple, purple-highlighted collar over a red shirt. By Metal Fury he has switched to a plainer look — a red jacket, white shirt and black trousers — closer to what he wore before he joined HD Academy.

Zeo makes friends easily thanks to an open, cheerful nature, and he treats people with genuine respect. He envied Masamune and Toby for being the stronger bladers of the group, but that never stopped him training to close the gap. His attachment to his friends runs deep enough that feeling betrayed by them can turn him stubborn and even deceitful, as when he wrongly accused Masamune of abandoning him. He also proves sharply observant, recognising Toby behind Ziggurat's new blader Faust just from the look in his eyes.

Flame Byxis and its needle moves broke Masamune and beat Ian Garcia, but Ryuga brushed him aside and resentment drove him more than skill.

Claims We Could Not Check

Shares his first name with Zeo Zagart from the original series, though the two are unrelated.
His surname "Abyss" may nod to Hades Kerbecs, the top bey on his old team, Star Breaker.
One of the few Metal Saga bladers to use three different Beyblades across the story, alongside Gingka, Ryuga, and Toby.
His hairstyle echoes his Spiral Fox bey and resembles Yu Tendo's.
His Japanese voice actor later voiced Arman Kusaba in Beyblade Burst Rise.
