Biography

Takanosuke Shishiya is a cheerful, sportsmanlike blader in Beyblade: Shogun Steel who fights with Archer Griffin C145S and initially seeks to challenge Zyro Kurogane. After losing to Shinobu and to the mysterious Sakyo Kurayami's one-hit-knockout Dragooon, he follows Sakyo out of admiration, eventually becoming his Synchrome partner and true friend through the Neo Battle Bladers tournament and the fight against DNA. Despite frequent losses, his encouragement of other bladers and loyalty to Sakyo define his arc.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Takanosuke, an average-height teenager, wears his blond hair disheveled and medium length, with cerulean-blue eyes. His hoodie is a baggy mustard yellow with purple stripes crossing the shoulders and a lilac lining inside the hood, and around his neck hangs a hexagonal pendant with a downward-pointing red triangle. Brown fingerless gloves complete his hands, and a khaki-green Bey carrier tucked beneath the folds of his hoodie holds his Archer Griffin C145S. He wears oversized dark blue jeans that pool past his legs and purple sneakers marked with a yellow stripe and white highlights.

Takanosuke reads as cocky at first meeting, but that impression gives way to someone genuinely thoughtful and caring, shown when he lifts Ren's spirits after her loss by praising the strength of her fighting spirit. Both Maru and Benkei judge his Bey spirit to burn even brighter than Zyro's, a verdict that catches Zyro himself off guard. He stays cheerful and gracious regardless of outcome, taking both his win over Ren and his loss to Shinobu in the same good-natured stride.

Delta Slash beat Ren and shrugged off her trick, but he loses to every top name and is defined more by loyalty than results.
