Biography
Spike Bourne is a brutal, boxing-inspired DNA operative in Beyblade: Shogun Steel who fights with Thief Zirago WA130HF, a blade whose free-spinning attack ring echoes Daichi Sumeragi's Gaia Dragoon. He toys with and taunts Zyro Kurogane before falling to his Burning Upper special move, then sends Genjuro in to continue the fight. He later helps Team Garcias try to stop a rebellious Kira Hayama and briefly resurfaces attacking Bey Parks during the Dark Nebula arc.
Appearance and personality
What They Look Like, and How They Behave
Spike is built like a boxer, with spiky brown hair and eyes set with unusually small pupils. An X-shaped scar crosses his forehead, echoing the one Daichi carries in the original series. He fights in a gray boxing vest trimmed in beige, red trousers with bandaging wrapped around the left leg, and bandages covering both hands.
Working for the DNA organization, Spike is volatile and destructive, and he enjoys goading his opponents, Zyro most of all. He channels boxing moves such as jabs and uppercuts into directing his Bey's attacks, and he clearly relishes both the fight itself and the wreckage it leaves behind, something his clash with Zyro and his assault on the Bey Parks both make plain.

Claims We Could Not Check
- "Bourne" means a stream from a spring, ironic since Spike is a Fire-type blader.
- Third DNA member to fight Zyro, after Yoshio and Kira.
- Thief Zirago's free-spinning ring pays homage to Daichi's Gaia Dragoon.
- Visually modeled on Daichi Sumeragi (forehead scar, mismatched pant legs, free-spin ring).
