Biography

Selen Garcia, called Selen Gracie in Japan, is a member of the Brazilian Team Garcias who relies on evasive, stamina-draining tactics with her Ray Gasher 135SF rather than direct confrontation. After helping her team menace GanGan Galaxy across Metal Masters and Metal Fury, she resurfaces in Shogun Steel as one of the four Garcia siblings leading DNA (Dark Nebula Again), the reformed remnant of Hades Inc.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Brazilian by background, Selen has brown eyes and short, wavy hair that carries through every later redesign. Early on she pairs a crop top and jacket with tight shorts that start low on her stomach and end high on her thighs, baring her navel, and she tends to wear a smirk. By Shogun Steel she has grown taller; her look shifts to a dark blue coat with a small gold chain on the left side, worn over a ruffled lavender shirt, plus a black skirt with a white, gold-buckled belt, lipstick, pink earrings and a gold necklace.

Selen leans on evasion in battle, keeping her distance to drain an opponent's stamina and unsettle their focus, a style reminiscent of Tetsuya's approach. She also carries plenty of self-belief, insisting that no one can beat her.

She wins by running, distracting and draining spin rather than hitting, a style that beat Masamune once and folded in nearly every straight fight.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • Her affinity for running as a battle tactic stems from a childhood spent physically running to steal food for herself and her brothers.
  • Madoka compares her cheap tactics against Masamune to Tetsuya Watarigani's similar style, noting both use Gasher-type Beyblades.
