Biography

Sanguinex leads the Dark Bladers, the four monster-themed bladers who stalk the Bladebreakers across Europe, and he is drawn as a vampire of the standard sort. He presents himself as cursed and says that beating strong bladers is the only way to lift it, which makes Tyson's team ideal prey; the curse itself came of losing to Robert Jürgens, and the resentment he still carries for the Majestics is the one thing that reliably cracks his composure. His bat bit-beast Draculor suits a blader who prefers a tunnel ambush to a fair match. With his younger brother Lupinex his patience is bottomless. He loses every battle he is shown in, including the tag defeat under the Eiffel Tower that ends the pursuit, and reappears at Robert's castle with the grudge intact.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Drawn as a vampire of the standard sort: red and grey hair, red eyes.

Calm nearly all of the time, and polite with it — sinister, but well-mannered. Losing to Robert left him with a deep hatred of the man and of the Majestics generally, and that, a lost match, or being cut off mid-sentence are the only three things that reliably break the composure. With his younger brother Lupinex his patience is close to bottomless; he is usually the one talking him down. His cloak appears to let him change form, as he does cornering Tyson in a corridor during the Olympia challenge.

Dark Bladers (leader)

Believing the curse laid on him by Robert Jürgens can only be undone by beating strong opposition, Sanguinex sets his sights on Tyson's team the moment they land in Europe. He directs Draculor's tunnel ambush in London and pairs with Lupinex against Tyson and Max in the Channel Tunnel, holding the group together even as each fight slips away from him. Under the Eiffel Tower he throws all four Dark Bladers at the Bladebreakers at once and still comes up short, the pursuit collapsing with the loss. He turns up again at Robert's castle afterward, the grudge against the Majestics as raw as ever, patience with his brother Lupinex the one thing that never cracks.
